ICAP's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides FREE tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families throughout our 14-county service area. IRS-certified volunteers prepare and file accurate federal and state income tax returns at no cost.
Our goal is to help individuals and families access valuable tax credits, maximize eligible tax benefits and keep more of their hard-earned money.

VITA services are available to eligible individuals and families who meet IRS income and other program guidelines. Income limits and eligibility requirements are updated annually by the IRS.
To help ensure your tax return is prepared accurately and efficiently, please bring the following applicable documents to your appointment:
• Photo ID (for all adults on the tax return)
• Social Security Cards or ITINs (for everyone on tax return)
• Income Documents or a official full transcript from the IRS: W-2s, 1099s and other tax documents showing income received during the year.
• Last Year's Tax Return (if available)
• Childcare Information: Childcare provider's name, address and tax identification number, if you paid for childcare.
• Education Documents: Form 1098-T and other education-related tax documents, if applicable.
• Bank Information including Bank Name, Routing and Account Number
• Any other Tax Documents
• Any additional forms or paperwork related to your income, deductions or tax credits.
Bring all applicable documents for yourself, your spouse and your dependents. Having your documents ready helps our volunteers prepare your return accurately and reduces the need for follow-up visits.
