Participating in recreational activities provides children and youth with opportunities to stay active, build friendships, develop new skills, and enjoy healthy experiences throughout the year. When funding is available, ICAP may be able to assist eligible families with youth recreation expenses.
Through a partnership with the Brookings Park and Recreation Department, ICAP may provide Summer Recreation Program vouchers to eligible families in the Brookings area.
In Clark and Turner Counties, assistance may also be available to help purchase swim passes for eligible youth.
Youth Recreation Assistance is only available when funding is available. Assistance is dependent upon available program funding and resources and may vary by county, program availability, and funding levels. Because funding is limited, assistance cannot be guaranteed.
Applications may be completed:
• Through the ICAP KIOSK: https://www.interlakescap.com/custom/client-information
• In person at your local ICAP office by calling ahead to schedule an appointment.
To determine eligibility, applicants must provide:
• A valid photo ID (if available)
• Social Security cards for all household members
• Verification of all household income received during the previous month, including but not limited to:
o Wages or pay stubs
o Child support
o Social Security benefits
o Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
o Unemployment benefits
o Retirement or pension income
o Any other sources of household income
Additional documentation may be requested depending on the type of assistance being sought.
Families interested in Youth Recreation Assistance should contact their local ICAP office to verify funding availability, discuss eligibility requirements, and learn about recreation opportunities available in their county.
For the fastest service, applicants are encouraged to complete an application through the ICAP KIOSK before their appointment.
Youth recreation programs provide more than just fun activities. They help children stay active, build confidence, develop social skills, and create positive experiences that contribute to their overall well-being.
"Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, play, grow, and create lasting memories through recreational activities."
