Access to medications and necessary medical equipment can be critical to maintaining health and independence. When funding is available, ICAP may be able to assist eligible households with certain medical-related expenses, including:
• Prescription medication costs
• Medical equipment purchases
• Transportation assistance for medical appointments
• Other eligible medical needs as funding and program guidelines allow
Our goal is to help individuals and families address essential health-related needs that may otherwise create financial hardship.
To be considered for assistance:
• Medical services, equipment, and prescriptions must be necessary.
• Applicants must have no other available resources to meet the need, such as insurance coverage, Independent Living Choices, or other assistance programs.
• Requests for medical equipment is reviewed on a case by case situation.
• Gas assistance for medical appointments is limited.
• Applicants requesting gas assistance must provide proof of a valid, non-expired driver's license.
Medicine and Medical Assistance is only available when funding is available. Assistance is dependent upon available program funding and resources and may vary throughout the year. Because funding is limited, assistance cannot be guaranteed.
Applications may be completed:
• Apply online through the ICAP KIOSK: www.interlakescap.com/custom/client-information
• In person at your local ICAP office by calling ahead to schedule an appointment

Additional documentation may be requested depending on the type of assistance being sought, such as prescription information, medical equipment estimates, invoices, or other verification of expenses.
